Species: H. Sapien Shermanzee
Summary: The species H. Sapien Shermanzee (Shermanzee in common vernacular) is oft described as wily, elusive and possessing of greater speed and a high intellect capable of felling an adult member of the H. Sapien Parentus species with its confounding ability to distract and disarm. Commonly observed displaying a superior level of cuteness that is likely to be used as a defensive ploy after doing something naughty.
How to recognize: Grubby face, big smiles, sticky clothing and sweet smelling hair. Most likely to be found in an area of the habitat that has been put “off limits.”
Attracted to: Shiny objects, items described as “no-no,” baskets of laundry, anything that can be banged, dropped, dragged, thrown or torn, and soft gray cats. Partial to closed doors/cabinets, Homilus Daddus and the bathroom sink. Will show varied and completely illogical attraction to any given item of food, article of clothing, toy and all activities by the day, hour, and/or minute.
Repelled by: Offers of a fresh diaper, offers of a helping hand and being in the car too long. Will show varied and completely illogical repulsion to any given item of food, article of clothing, toy and all activities by the day, hour, and/or minute.
Defensive/Offensive mechanisms: pinching, biting, whacking, screaming and "monster growling" (though only at Homilus Mommus). Most effective defense is “boneless fish” method of resistance to being picked up. Is known to engage the cuteus patutus factor immediately prior to and upon completion of a dreaded act of vandalism to the habitat.
Soothed by: “warm” (a gingerbread man), froggie, and blankets. Likes boo-boos to be kissed immediately and hugs and kisses to be dispensed throughout the day at regular intervals.

Conclusion: In spite of swift displays of a mighty temper and staggering ability to destroy, the Shermanzee skews favorable as a companion to H. Sapien Parentus due largely in part to its hugs, kisses and other displays of a large and generous capacity to love.
