A Magical Wieking Adventure
We had two free southwest tickets burning holes in our pocket, so we decided to head out to warmer places for a few days. My vote was for somewhere we normally wouldn’t go, like Santa Fe or somewhere in that ‘hood. Rob, on the other hand, was not so inclined and campaigned hard for a second trip to Disney. Okay, he was right. We had a great time, got to see family and pulled off our most successful parental surprise to date.
We didn’t tell Colin where we were going, because of Disney’s omnipresent ad campaign where joyful kids find out they are going to Disney in a variety of Fun! Vignettes! We decided to tell Colin on the plane, with the help of the plane crew. This is where I give flight attendants their due respect. They have to deal with a lot of pissy, whiney people all the time, and I think they like to be able to be harbingers of good times when they have the chance. The Southwest crew went above and beyond. When we boarded, I stopped to ask if they could tell Colin where he was going over the intercom at some point in the flight. The pilot happened to hear and he was all for it. So as we neared the end of the flight, they switched on the PA and…well, watch the video.
What I didn’t capture was that they made Colin the coolest crown of, wait for it, PEANUT PACKETS! Just look at the picture whydon’tcha.
Can this boy be any more loved? More on our thrilling two days of Disney next!
