That would be a negative

I guess ogling over hot firemen all day isn’t in my future. (love ya hon!)

The job prospect cooled off. It was a communications job with our local fire district, which is the second largest in the state and encompasses six cities in four counties. I made it through the second interview and they chose to proceed with four candidates who had emergency services experience. Can’t say as I blame them, but I think I would have done a good job there with a bit of trial by, er, fire.

It would have had some drawbacks, giving up my flex schedule, being on call 24/7 several weeks a year, being in crisis mode a lot of the time...

But it also would have been challenging, ever-changing, engaging and lucrative. Did I mention hot firemen?

So once again I need to remember how lucky I am to have my job, with it’s four-day work week, good pay, relatively routine (ie low stress) work load and good-for-the-most-part coworkers. Everything happens for a reason, and for some freakin reason I can’t understand, other than the potential that I kicked puppies in a previous life the universe thinks I still have some lessons to learn from my current situation.

No tears though. I am proud of myself for making it as far as I did, and I am getting pretty confident in my ability to get through intense interviews. When the time is right, something will appear. And now I will have time to test a little scheme I’ve been developing as a fun money maker. We shall see…
